Carol F. Wissmann

Carol F. Wissmann passed away on July 18, 2017 at the age of 80.

She was the beloved wife of Wilfred Wissmann of Defiance, MO. She is survived by her son, Wesley (Kaye) Wissmann of Defiance, MO; two daughters, Tammy (Tony) Brinker of Defiance, MO, Julie (John) Figura of Defiance, MO; two brothers, Don (Leona) Schoene of Vienna, MO, William (Peggy) Schoene of Tell City, IN; two sisters, Judith Kestler of Sullivan, MO, Barbara (James) Doyle of O'Fallon, MO, daughter-in-law, Monica Wissmann; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, William H Schoene, mother, Frances Schoene, husband, Wilfred Wissman, son, Rodney Wissmann and brother-in-law, Wayne Kestler. Carol was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta, MO. She and her husband were the proud owners of Boone Country Winery as well as Wissmann Farms. She was a Sunday school teacher, altar guild, member of the Ladies Aid, made altar flower arrangements, and took part in making banners for the church. She was a youth group leader, served on the Church Council, was a member of the PTL, and Pork Producers. Carol spent a lot of time visiting friends at nursing homes and shut-ins. She also was an author of poetry and an autobiography. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation:  Friday July 21, 2017 from 2 - 8 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 5542 Walnut St., Augusta, MO. Service: Saturday July 22, 2017, 10 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church- Augusta, MO with interment in the church cemetery.
