He was the beloved husband of Julianna Sickler nee Pongratz of Defiance, Missouri; He is survived by his Two Sons, Kenneth (Nancy) Sickler, Steven Sickler; daughter, Kathy Sickler of Defiance, MO; bonus daughters, Shirllee Jessup Sickler and Lynn Steward; sister, Joann Wehmeyer of Thiebes, IL; three grandsons, Evan (Angie) Sickler, Ted Sickler, Dan Sickler; granddaughter, Stacey Sickler; bonus grandchildren, Shaun Travis, Heather Wheeler, Kelly Smith, Laurie Hakenwerth, Amber Duell and Samantha Hyatt. He is preceded in death by his Father, Otis Sickler, mother, Addie Mae Sickler, wife, Julianna Sickler, son, James Sickler, Jr., brother, Neil Sickler, brother, Shelby Sickler, sister, Pauline Norris, sister, Pearl Sickler, granddaughter, Christina Sickler, grandson, Adam Sickler. James enjoyed 64 years of marriage to his lovely wife, Julie Sickler, prior to her passing in 2008. He proudly served our country in the Army during World War II. James was an active member of Friedens U.C.C in New Melle, MO as well as the New Melle VFW Post 5651 for over 70 years. He enjoyed gardening and spending time around his home. James was a real people person and "Never met a stranger". He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation: Tuesday July 25th, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Friedens Peace U.C.C.-.New Melle, MO; with service immediately following. Interment in Friedens-Peace U.C.C. Cemetery-New Melle.
