Ray Evan Lee Slaughter


Ray Evan Lee Slaughter passed away on December 18, 2017 at the age of 84.

He was the beloved husband of Maryann Slaughter nee Greenwald of Wentzville, Missouri. He is survived by his children, Bonita Faith (Mike) Dixon of S. St. Louis, MO, Jeffery Howard (Joni) Slaughter of Lake Sherwood, MO, Betsy Lee (Charlie Vasey) Stephens of Prairie Village, KS, Bradley Ray (Kim) Slaughter of Wentzville, MO, Nicole Renee (Adam) Fischer of Wentzville, MO; two sisters, Lorainne Phillips of AZ, Joyce (Robert) Rulon of Brookfield, MO; sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Charley Slaughter, mother, Lenah Slaughter, 1st wife, Kitty Vaughn Slaughter, son, Daniel Brian Slaughter, sister, Ester Harman, sister, Glada Kelley.

Ray was a Pilot with Ozark Airlines and TWA.. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Ray was an active member in the Wentzville and Marceline communities; including The Optimist Club, The Swallows, E.A.A, and Missouri Flying Farmers. He touched many individuals with his flight instruction over the years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation: Friday December 22, 2017, 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Pkwy., Wentzville, MO. Service: Saturday December 23, 2017, 1:00 pm at Delaney Funeral Home, 1720 N. Missouri Ave. Marceline, MO 64658, with visitation prior to service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Interment:; Fitzgerald Cemetery- Bynumville, Missouri.
