David Frank Betlach of Foristell, Missouri passed away with all of his family members by his side on March 30, 2020 at the age of 84 due to natural causes.
Dave was born on October 11, 1935, and was the beloved son to Frank and Mildred Betlach.
Dave joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953, at the age of seventeen. He was sent over to fight in the Korean War and he always said that the Koreans surrendered when they found out that he was coming, as he was awarded the national defense medal. He worked as a meat cutter and belonged to Laborers Local 42, and later retired as a pipe coverer for Local 1 in 1997.
He was born and raised in St. Louis, and moved out into the New Melle area in the year of 1991. His dream had always been to own land, with family nearby. He was surrounded by his family and friends his whole life.
Dave is survived by his wife, Joan, of 61 years, his 4 children; David (Tammy), Renee, Chris (Rhonda), and Greg (Angie), his 5 grandchildren; David, Jessica, Alex, Alexis, and Jack, and one great grandchild.
Dave enjoyed anything and everything outdoors. No matter the occasion, Dave was always able to get people together with his carnival tickets for gambling and games. He was always the life of the party. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Due to the coronavirus, we will hold a ceremony at Immaculate Heart of Mary followed by a celebration of life party at a later date to be determined.
