      June 01, 2023 The 2023 New Melle Festival Queen Candidates hosted the 9th Annual Kickin' it for Cancer Kickball Tournament on Friday, May 12 and was again a tremendous success.

      It was a beautiful night for kickball, and twelve teams registered and came out to play to support the cause. The teams were: 2 Legit 2 Kick, Balls of Fury, Booze on First, Burbes, Catala & Red Beauty, Elite Alcoholics, Freeballers, Homefront Homies, Kickin' It, Shadow Wizard Money Gang, The Blue Balls, and The Lenders.

George F. Struckhoff passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at his home in Schluerburg, Missouri at the age of 74 years.

He is survived by his wife, Carroll Struckhoff of Augusta; six siblings, Donald Struckhoff of Augusta, Mark Struckhoff and wife, Lorraine of Marthasville, MO, Sister M. Charlotte Struckhoff, OSF of St. Louis, Mary Ann Kluesner and husband, Glen of Augusta, Lucy Tobben and husband, Dave of Washington, and Doris Dimaya of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Sandy Woolard and husband, Dave of St. Peters, MO; brothers-in-law, Charles Condon and wife, Jean of Virginia and Joey Condon and wife, Diane of Kansas City;  numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives, and many friends.
 
George F. Struckhoff was born October 30, 1946 in Washington, Missouri; son of Beda Herman Struckhoff and wife, Agnes J. Struckhoff nee Ehlenbeck. He received his education at Immaculate Conception parish grade school in Augusta and graduated from St. Francis Borgia High School in 1964. He then attended and graduated cum laude in Political Science and Philosophy from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. He served his country in the United States Army Reserves. After a short time teaching, George returned to farming which he enjoyed all of his life. He was married to Carroll Condon, the love of his life, February 22, 2003 and they made their home in Schluersburg.
 
George was a life-long member of Immaculate Conception Church in Augusta, where he served as Lector, choir member and guitarist for many years. He was a member and former Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus #1927 and was a fourth-degree member of the Monsignor Hildner Assembly #574. He participated in many TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) retreats and was a member of the ICA Men’s Sodality. He enjoyed good music, singing tenor, playing guitar, and became a guitar maker and restored many guitars. He was also interested in researching genealogies of area families and wrote family histories. George was an avid reader and loved a good math problem.
 
George was preceded in death by his parents, Beta and Agnes Struckhoff; his parents-in-law, Joseph and Veronica Condon, brothers-in-law, Zoilo “Jim” Dimaya, Patrick Condon, and John Condon and his wife, Judy.
 
George will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation: Monday, June 14, 2021,  2-8 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Augusta, MO. Funeral: Tuesday, June 15, 2021, 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Augusta, MO, with interment in the church cemetery.

Memorials preferred to St. Vincent School Tuition Assistance or Immaculate Conception Church in Augusta.
