The New Melle Chamber of Commerce will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at New Melle Sports and Recreation. The event will include the Second Annual Adult Egg Hunt to benefit Cystic Fibrosis. There are several families in the New Melle / Defiance area affected by the disease.
On Sunday, March 24, at 2:00 p.m., the Boone-Duden Historical Society will present its first program of 2019, “A Walking Tour of Hamburg.” This program, which is free and open to the public, will take place on the land where the village of Hamburg existed for one hundred years.
Learn about the history of slavery on the Missouri frontier with cultural preservationist and interpreter Angela da Silva as she performs “Lila, Life of a Missouri Slave” at 1:15 and 3:15 p.m. in the Old Peace Chapel at The Historic Daniel Boone Home, Feb. 17 and April 14. Admission is free.
