Presented by Terrabis in partnership with the O'Fallon Hoots, the event saw members of the local police department square off against their brave counterparts from the fire department in an engaging regulation baseball game. This remarkable event unfolded on a sunlit Saturday afternoon, April 27th, drawing a spirited crowd eager to support their first responders.
Many of the players are esteemed members of the St. Louis Clydesdales First Responder Baseball Team, known for their dedication both on the field and in their communities. The game kicked off with a ceremonial first pitch thrown by Terrabis's Marketing Specialist, Erica Simmons, setting the stage for what was to be a memorable day of friendly sportsmanship.
The Battle of the Badges was a celebration of courage, commitment, and support, culminating in an impressive fundraising achievement of $8,500 for The BackStoppers of St. Charles County. This organization plays a crucial role in providing necessary financial assistance and support to the families of police officers, firefighters, and volunteer firefighters. It also provides financial assistance to publicly funded paramedics and EMTs who have lost their lives or suffered catastrophic injuries in the line of duty. Currently, it supports approximately 95 families with 75 dependent children.
Terrabis CEO, Dan Ambrosino, shared, “This event demonstrates our continued commitment to giving back to the communities we serve. It is a privilege to support The BackStoppers and the incredible work they do for the families of our first responders. We're honored to play a part in this impactful cause, and we are grateful for the O'Fallon Hoots, and all who participated and attended. The event not only provided a day of fun and fellowship but also made a significant impact on the lives of families in our local community”.
