Prepare yourselves for the ultimate throwback. Augusta is setting the scene for a classic Norman Rockwell Christmas, as the 37th annual Candlelight Christmas Walk will light up the town. More than 1,000 luminaries greet visitors as Santa Claus awaits in the Edelweiss Guest House and a horse-drawn carriage trots around the town square. To combat Jack Frost, settle down next to the bonfire and enjoy chestnuts roasting over an open fire. And if the mood strikes you, join the carolers at the historic church. Finally, a town-wide scavenger hunt will round out the night.
This year’s theme is “A Christmas Carol.” If you complete the hunt you can enter to win big prizes, such as a night in a bed and breakfast, a couple’s massage, or a wine tasting for ten. Avoid the last minute shopping rush and stop by the Christmas Market at Mount Pleasant Winery. From there, shuttles can take you to stores and galleries selling hand-blown glass, art and antiques. The restaurants, brewery & wineries are all offering specials and holiday themed dishes and drinks. The Christmas Walk takes place on the first two Fridays in December. December 6 and 13, 2019 from 5pm to 10pm.
