NMSR Presents the 69th Annual New Melle Festival June 9 - 11

The Annual New Melle Festival begins on Thursday evening, June 9 and concludes Saturday evening, June 11. Get ready to enjoy carnival rides, live entertainment, cold drinks and, of course, our world-famous gizzards all right here in New Melle!
Admission prices for the festival - Thursday Night is only $2 per person or $1 with a canned food donation. Friday and Saturday are $5 per person, and 12 and under are free. 
The Festival kicks off Thursday evening from 6 to 10 p.m. for Family Night. The 3rd Annual Little Miss and Mister Pageant will take place inside the hall at 6:30 p.m. Registration is now open and will close online at noon on Thursday, June 9. Admission for Thursday’s Family Night includes Straatman Feed Agri-Land, face painting, balloon artists, the magic show, NMFPD demos and an emergency vehicle demo featuring the Bomb/Swat & Forensics Teams, medical helicopters and more. All activities close at 9 p.m, except the carnival rides and grounds close at 10 p.m.

Friday night, the festival begins at 6 p.m., and the grounds close at 12:30 a.m; the beer garden will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight. The 69th New Melle Festival Queen Pageant will begin at 7 p.m. Live music by Turning Point from 8 p.m. to midnight on the main stage. Carnival rides will be running from 6 to 11 p.m.

Saturday begins with the Festival Parade at 12:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “cartoons,” so grab your friends or organization and enter a float in the parade for no charge. (To be entered in the float competition, you must pay a $25 registration fee.) Line up for the parade is at 11:30 a.m. at Daniel Boone Elementary. The grounds open at 4:00 p.m., and the Baby Contest will be in the NMSR Hall at 4:30 p.m. Participants must wear a plain white t-shirt and the contest is for ages 0 - 24 months. The cornhole tournament also begins at 4:30 p.m. in the beer garden. Live music by Just for Fun Productions presents Darrin Norris from 4 to 7 p.m. and an open-air dance featuring live music by Brushville from 8 p.m. to midnight. Carnival rides will be running from 6 to 11 p.m. The grounds close at 12: 30 a.m.
