If the last couple of years taught us anything, it is to adapt, be creative and be willing to think outside the box. That is what Shiloh United Methodist Church, 1515 Hwy T, Foristell, MO, did when it began outdoor worship two years ago. Our “Worship Under the Trees,” aptly called, is an alternative Sunday service that was so well-received that we kept it going, even when church services could return indoors. Now, each summer (May-September,) on the First Sunday of the month, at 10 a.m., we worship on the shady hill outside the walls of Shiloh. Don’t miss the last “Worship Under the Trees” on September 4, for this year. The Service is complete with music, sermon, communion – and the occasional bug and gust of wind to keep it interesting. Please bring your lawn chairs. When our “Trunk or Treat” returned last fall, the outdoor space seemed to be the perfect setting to reimagine the event for 2022. On Saturday, October 29, from 2-4 p.m., Shiloh Church will host its Trunk-or-Treat, complete with trunks to find goodies/candy, refreshments, activities and maybe some fun surprises. All families are invited to this safe, daytime, costumed event. (You can stop by before heading to New Melle's Halloween Party at NMSR.)
Everyone is invited to the worship service (hilltop or indoor) or any of our events at Shiloh UMC. Join us and see what “under the trees” and outside the walls may lead to next.
