The New Melle Community Passion Play is gearing up for the 2023 season, and they need your help. Come and take part in this long-running community event which offers great Christian interaction and involvement for the young and old. Students can earn hours for community and Thespian service. Choir members and help with props and other areas behind the scenes are also needed. All costumes and music are provided.

One big change this year, there will only be three performances over one weekend. On Saturday, April 1, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 2, at 2 and 4:30 p.m., at New Melle Sports and Rec, 4700 Hwy Z. Admission is free, but donations are welcome, and seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Those interested in becoming a part of this community tradition, simply attend rehearsals or contact Paul (number below.) All ages are welcome. Adult must accompany those under 16, and no acting experience is needed for stand-ins and crowd actors.

Cast and crew rehearsals are Monday evenings at 7 p.m. beginning on February 6, and choir rehearsals are Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m. beginning on February 5. All rehearsals will be at Friedens Peace UCC, 3560 Mill Street, New Melle. The week before the play, Tech Week, rehearsals are nightly starting March 27 at 7 p.m. at New Melle Sports and Rec.
