Get Ready, Get Set, Go Shoot a Photo - Deadline September 30

Submitted by Gay Eskew

Fall beauty! Autumn colors! Cooler weather! Indian summer! These phrases depict a favorite season of the year! “Autumn in Augusta” is the focus of the Fall “Best of Augusta” Photo Contest.
Visit the Augusta Harvest Festival activities on Friday and Saturday, September 15 & 16. (Visit www.augusta-chamber.org or see pg 1.) Take the opportunity to shoot photographs for the September 30 entry deadline for adults and teens.

Watch and/or take pictures of the festival parade, the fun run, the pie contest, kids’ activities, or anything else that captures your imagination in the Town of Augusta.

Stop by the “Best of Augusta Photo Contest” table on Saturday, September 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and complete or pick up an entry form. A small photo printer will be available to print a 4 × 6 for the photo contest entry form. The pictures print from either an emailed or texted picture. (It’s a fascinating process to view!) A nominal printing and convenience fee of $2 (cash only) will be collected. Your completed entry form and photograph will be immediately entered into the contest.

If you prefer, you can mail in your printed photo and an entry form to the “Best of Augusta” Photo Contest, PO Box 42, Augusta, MO 63332. Additional information and entry forms may be found at www.townofaugustamo.org October (may be sooner) presents the opportunity for kids 12 & under to enter their own contest. The focus is still “Autumn in Augusta.” The deadline is October 31. Cash prizes will be awarded for First, Second, and Third places.

Fall is a busy season. There are plenty of photo opportunities ranging from various fruit, grain, and vegetable harvests; pumpkin patches and hay bale mazes; colorful trees and leaves; Harvest Festival activities; scarecrows; music events; ball games; and whatever else presents itself before you. Take your best shot!
