Vehige Feed Store Changes Ownership

Vehige Farm Store, 1112 Hwy. T, Foristell, which has been under family ownership for 65 years, is excited to announce that effective August 1, 2019, the store will become part of Cooperative Association #2, based in Washington, MO.

Rich, Carla and Frank Vehige will be available for the first year to assist with the transition and to ensure that Vehige store customers continue to receive excellent service. The entire staff will now be part of the Cooperative Association #2.

Carla Vehige said, “We want to thank each and every one of our customers for putting their trust in us.” We realize you have other places you could do business, and we thank you for choosing us.

Paul Brune, General Manager of Co-op #2 said “The Vehige family and their staff have worked over the past 65 years to build their business on value-added products and customer service. The Cooperative Association #2 has been around for over 100 years and shares those same values.”

Brune further explained, “People often identify us as “MFA”, and it’s true we have a close affiliation with MFA, but Cooperative Association #2 is not exclusively tied to the MFA product line. We are a true cooperative. We are independent and customer owned. We can buy and sell any brands of products that we choose and customers should expect no changes in prices, products, or services currently offered. We may, however, add some additional MFA (or other brand) products for customer convenience.”

Cooperative Association #2 currently operates retail stores with fertilizer facilities in Washington, New Haven, and Marthasville. Brune said, “The addition of a Foristell location with allow us to realize some economies of scale and increase services to customers in Warren, St. Charles and Franklin Counties. The combined operation will offer crop chemical spraying, anhydrous sales and application, dry and liquid fertilizer sales and application, grinding and mixing bulk feed, and the sale of bag feed.

Brune said, “We’re really excited to have this opportunity; and we look forward to sharing the advantages of cooperative ownership with customers in the Vehige Feed Store service area as we grow and expand together.”

The store hours will remain the same, as will the phone number: 636-673-2202.
