The opening of Villa 5 allows eight more residents to reside at Bethel Hills, for a total of 23 community members. All eight apartments are already rented. Villa 5 is the largest of the three buildings that needed renovation and will offer one large three-bedroom, two large two-bedroom and on the lower level, a one-bedroom apartment. The lower level will include storage space, multipurpose rooms and space for activities. Villa 5 is the last building to be renovated for apartments. The next step is to start building new spaces, but that will take some time before they are ready to begin that stage.
The Bethel Hills Community is faith-based. Its members include adults with and without disabilities who live life to the fullest with opportunities to live, learn, and worship together.
Approximately 100,000 Missouri adults live with an intellectual or developmental disability. Many currently live with family caregivers, and many of those caregivers are over age 60. “What will life be like for my son or daughter after we are gone?” is a universal question among these families. The Bethel Hills Community provides a safe and loving option for its residents. It is an opportunity to be independent and live in a loving, caring and nurturing environment.
Volunteers are not just welcomed, they are the heart of our community. With many opportunities to join us for a wide range of needs. Our most urgent need is for skilled tradesmen and groundskeepers – those who love to paint, construct, mow, weed, landscape, and invest year-round to maintain our beautiful 127-acre campus. Your contribution is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
