"I'm A Giant Fire Truck" is the first children's book by author Sarah Schmidt, a local author and speech pathologist with over 20 years of experience in her field.

The book is written with a rhythmic, song-like cadence and aims to support children's language development while encouraging families to create memories and connections while reading together.

The illustrations in the book are by local artist Antoinette Elgin. "I'm A Giant Fire Truck" is her first illustrated book. She is excited to work with Sarah again on her next book, "Helicopter, Helicopter." In addition to illustrating the book, Antoinette participates in local Plein Air events and does commission work. She typically paints with knives on canvas. She works with watercolors and some pastels. To learn more about Antoinette's work, visit her Facebook page @ I Paint With Knives.
