Mark Sutherland, CEO of Stone Ledge Distillery, and other investors invite you to the Stone Ledge Tasting Room in Defiance. The venue showcases the distillery's flagship Stowloch Whiskey, the refined Stowloch Reserve, and the smooth InverXion vodka. The bar carries premium British and Caribbean liquors and a carefully chosen and growing selection of local Missouri wines, beers, and spirits.
Located in the Ozark Highlands, Stone Ledge Distillery spirits are created by contracted distiller Demetrius Cain. This region is known for its limestone landscape, which offers a natural filtration system for the crystal-clear waters used in their products. In 2022, the Missouri Legislature recognized Ozark Highlands Spirits as a protected class of alcohol under state law. This legislation preserves the rich history of spirit production in the Ozark Highlands. To obtain certification, a product must meet the following standards:
• Produced, aged, and bottled in the Ozark Highlands.
• Aged in oak barrels made in Missouri.
• Uses water from the Ozark Highlands that is free from chemicals.
• Whiskey must age for at least 4 years.
At the Stone Ledge Tasting Room, visitors can enjoy more than just high-quality spirits. It features an indoor, well-ventilated Cigar Room, providing a unique opportunity to savor a cigar alongside your whiskey, away from the crowd. You are welcome to bring your own cigar or choose from their carefully curated selection.
Guests are welcome to bring their own food while visiting, and the tasting room features a selection of charcuterie boards available for purchase. The Stone Ledge Tasting Room is conveniently located on the “S” curve in Defiance, at 3006 S Hwy 94. Join them for karaoke on the 2nd Saturday evening each month or live music May-October on Saturday afternoons when the weather is nice. Sit out on the covered seating area and take in the view.
