This year, three candidates are in the running for the 2025 New Melle Festival Queen: Morgan Molitor, sponsored by Tuepker Brothers Construction; Savannah Roberts, sponsored by DeWitt Insurance; and Addison Ropp, sponsored by Nance’s Contracting. The New Melle Festival Queen will be crowned on Friday evening during the festival.
The candidates have been busy preparing for the pageant and organizing several fundraisers in the upcoming weeks. The Queen candidates would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Carla Brakensiek with Catala Facial Retreat for her hospitality during the Spa Event on Sunday, April 27. Carla hosted the candidates for facials and makeup applications before their photo session with Carrie Harvey of Harvest Bloom Photography, which took place later that day. Jenna Murphy, the Queen Pageant coordinator, remarked, “It was a lovely morning filled with skincare and makeup education, yummy snacks, and great conversation. Thank you, Carla, for the personalized touch in all the event details and for making the girls feel so welcomed and special!”

On May 2, the candidates teamed up with 1860 Schulhaus to host “Cowgirls & Cocktails with the New Melle Queens & River Valley Co.” at 4612 Hwy Z, New Melle.
Mark your calendars for the 11th Annual Kickin’ It For Cancer kickball tournament at NMSR on Friday, May 16, featuring open play Pickleball for PK at the same time! All community members are welcome to attend, participate in the 50/50 raffle, enjoy ballpark concessions, and come together to celebrate this beloved tradition in loving memory of Trevor Joerling. Proceeds from the event will benefit both Friends of Kids with Cancer and PK's Prayers. See page 3 for details.
The New Melle Festival Queen Candidates' Annual Car Wash and Bake Sale is on Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Queen Pageant program would like to thank the fire department in advance for their hospitality and partnership with this event.
