Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County and Community Partners Host Homebuyer Readiness Program

Free summer financial coaching workshops help to facilitate a path to homeownership

ST. PETERS, Mo. (July 7, 2025) – Together with community partners, Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County is launching its annual free Homebuyer Readiness Program this summer. The four-part workshops offer financial coaching and skills as they assist individuals on how to achieve their goals of owning a home, as well as how to navigate the often complex homebuyer process.

The workshops will be held at the Spencer Road Branch of the St. Charles City-County Library, 427 Spencer Road in St. Peters. The program is open to residents of St. Charles County, as well as non-residents.
Topics include:
-           Monday, July 28, 6-7 p.m. Goals and Savings, and 7-8 p.m. Credit Repair;
-           Tuesday, August 5, 6-7 p.m. Steps to Mortgage Preapproval, and 7-8 p.m. All Things Homeownership.

The workshops also provide resources and activities to set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound (SMART) goals. Community experts will be on hand to help potential homeowners create action plans and personal coaches will be available. The Homebuyer Readiness Program is independent of Habitat’s time-honored homeownership program, which provides a “hand up” opportunity by partnering with local individuals and families to build and buy a Habitat home.
