Submitted by Ginny Schulz and Mary Lou Rogers - The community and her friends would like to commend Gail Jones for her generous donation of firefighter memorabilia to the New Melle Fire Department. Gail donated the items in honor of her late husband, Scott Jones, a retired fireman with the Creve Coeur Fire Protection District.
Gail and Scott enjoyed collecting firefighter memorabilia throughout their 43-year marriage. They beautifully decorated their home with quaint antique collectibles, honorariums, tributes, testimonials, and unique firefighter souvenirs.
We want to thank Gail for her thoughtfulness and generosity in making these donations. The New Melle Fire Department thanks Gail for the donations, which will be displayed and will enhance the entry hall at the new Fire Station #1 on Foristell Rd.
In tribute to Scott Jones, a veteran of the US Air Force who served during the Vietnam War, a plaque bearing his name will also be showcased in the entryway alongside the memorabilia.
We admire Gail's kind actions and extend our condolences to her and her family during this difficult time of sorrow.
Thank you from your good friends, Mary Lou Rogers and Ginny Schulz, the New Melle Fire Protection District, and the community, for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Your dedication to preserving Scott's memory and supporting the fire department is truly inspiring. We appreciate the love and care you put into this donation, ensuring that Scott’s legacy lives on within our community.
