Tom Shaw Foundation Honored At Missouri Capitol May 6

On May 6, 2026, the Missouri House of Representatives, led by Representative Tricia Byrnes, recognized the Tom Shaw Foundation and its president, Tom Shaw Jr., at the Missouri Capitol. The celebration marked the foundation’s fifth anniversary with a ceremony on the House floor.
The Tom Shaw Foundation’s goal is to carry forward the vision of the late Tom Shaw, a beloved Defiance, Missouri resident dedicated to strengthening local communities through ongoing philanthropy and promoting collaboration between St. Louis and St. Charles counties. The foundation seeks to inspire community giving by raising awareness and funds for organizations across these counties. Established in 2021 to honor Tom Shaw and his dedication to teamwork, civic responsibility, and community involvement, the foundation has raised thousands of dollars and provided vital support to local charities serving families in need and advancing Alzheimer’s research over the past five years.

On October 11, 2026, the foundation will host its Fifth Annual Tom Shaw Freedom Walk, the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from this year’s walk will support Guns-n-Hoses, the Missouri Peace Officers Association, and Backstoppers. The walk starts at Good News Brewing along the Katy Trail in Defiance. To register, sponsor, or donate, scan the QR code or visit TomShawFoundation.org. Stay tuned for updates.

Congratulations to the Tom Shaw Foundation for receiving this distinguished honor from the Missouri House of Representatives.
