Wait a minute! Hang on! Be patient! Let’s make this an awesome photo! People, animals, and moving subjects are sometimes difficult to capture the way you’d like. The secret is to be patient and keep trying. Have a perfect photo in mind. Then click the shutter. It may work out.
One example is fireworks. If your camera has a setting that takes multiple shots, use it. If not, anticipate. Just as a duck hunter follows the flight of the bird as he takes aim and fires, so it is with taking a photo. It takes a lot of practice to get a feel for it. Sometimes a great photo just happens. Sometimes it is planned!
Plan ahead for the fall “Best of Augusta” Photo Contest in September for adults and teens. With digital cameras and cell phones, you can shoot lots of photographs, “trash” those that aren’t acceptable, and save those that are. Then you can choose the best of the best taken in the Town of Augusta.
