Safe Haven Baby Boxes and the New Melle Fire Protection District are pleased to announce the blessing and official unveiling of the newest Safe Haven Baby Box, located at New Melle Fire Protection District Station 2, 3719 Hwy D, Defiance, MO.
The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 10 a.m. This Blessing marks the 467th Safe Haven Baby Box in the nation and the 15th in Missouri, expanding access to safe, anonymous surrender options for mothers in crisis. We would like to give a special thank you to IHM Marian Council and IHM Knights of Columbus, who poured their hard work, heart, and dedication into bringing this Baby Box to our community.
