On 9-26-17 Firefighters from the Augusta and New Melle Fire Departments and St Charles County ambulance district personell conducted a mass casualty incident training.
The incident involved a bus, a car and a hay ride wagon with 20+ live volunteer victims and 4 maniquins as victims. This annual training is used to educate and test the ability of first responders to assess, triage and transport a large number of victims with injuries varying from minor to life threatening. This training was held in the Augusta area.
The Augusta Fire Dept would like to extend a big thank you to A & A Towing for providing the car and the bus. Both vehicles will remain at Augusta fire station for a few weeks to allow further training on rescuing people from these type vehicles.
