New Melle Country Christmas (Tree Lighting, Santa & More) - Nov. 25th

New Melle’s Country Christmas will be Saturday, Nov. 25 from 4–7 p.m. at New Melle Sports and Recreation. The event will feature family-friendly activities that are free to the public. Visit and take your picture with Santa who will arrive at 5:15 p.m. riding in a firetruck.

Cheer as Santa officially lights the Christmas Tree at 5:30 p.m. Write and/or mail your letter to Santa, roast s’mores with the firefighters, sing along with the community choir, watch a magician and a balloon artist, decorate a Christmas cookie, enjoy complimentary food and drink, and more. Admission is free, but donations of new teddy bears will be accepted in memory of Trevor Joerling. The teddy bears will be given to hospitalized children at Christmas. Mark your calendars and plan to attend. See the enclosed flyer for more info.

Volunteer to Sing or Help Set Up

Do you love to decorate for the Holidays? Would you be willing to help the New Melle Country Christmas team? We will need help setting up and decorating before the event, and cleaning up after. (This could be a good opportunity for young people who need service hours or a great “give back to the community” project for a family or organization.) If you are available for a few hours on Friday, Nov. 24 or Saturday, Nov. 25, please call 636-288-2842 or email to This email address is being protected from spambots. If you would like to be part of the choir, plan on attending rehearsals on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
