Another Successful Year for Augusta Candlelight Walks

Unseasonably mild weather in early December made for a very comfortable Augusta Candlelight Christmas Walk the first weekend. More seasonal weather the second weekend brought out those who enjoy the crisp cool weather to help put them in the holiday spirit.

The Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce does a great job of putting on this annual “old-fashioned Christmas” that features thousands of luminaries lining the streets, horse drawn carriage rides, strolling carolers, Christmas Caroling in the UCC church sancturary, roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate, visits with Santa, local wines, exquisite cuisine, and so much more.

New this year was a Christmas Market featuring artisans and crafters offering unique holiday gifts. The traditional scavenger hunt provided opportunities to win some wonderful gift certificates.
