Franklin County Master Gardeners are having a plant sale on Saturday, May 5, from 9 am until 3 pm, at the JC Penney parking lot on Highway 100 in Washington, MO.

Refresh your garden with selections of perennials and annuals to accent your yard. Over 800 plants will be available for purchase. Plants include many from Master Gardeners’ own gardens as well as a large variety of native plants from the Missouri Wildflower Nursery. Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to help in your selections.

Browse the Garden Shoppe for books, gifts, or accents to enhance your knowledge and enjoyment of gardening. A Monarch Butterfly / Pollinator Booth will enable visitors to see how beneficial these insects can be to ensure increased food production from the garden. Handouts for selecting pollinator friendly plants will be available.

Younger gardeners will have an opportunity to plant a seed “cone” to take home.

Proceeds from the plant sale will be used to fund Master Gardener projects in the Franklin County area and to provide scholarships or tuition assistance for the Master Gardener Training Program. The 30 hour program trains participants about gardening and environmental stewardship whichenables them to take on volunteer gardening projects in their communities.
