University of Missouri Extension partners with St. Charles Community College to offer strength training for older adults

University of Missouri Extension Nutrition and Health Education Specialist, Emily Barbee, has partnered with St. Charles Community College to offer Stay Strong, Stay Healthy, a strength training program for older adults.

Participants will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, September 10 through October 21, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Community College. The fee is $69 for 16 sessions. To register, call Wendy or Marybeth at 636-922-8233 or visit stchas.edu/learnforlife.

Weights will be available on-site and a trained instructor will help participants learn to do the exercises safely. Participants can expect to increase their strength and improve balance over the course of the program. After the program individuals can continue what they have learned in the comfort of their home or with a group.
