The Augusta Plein Air Art Festival is well underway. Remaining events include Painting at Sugar Creek Winery and Vineyards on Thursday, May 2, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., then a Paint Out at Defiance Ridge Vineyards from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Friday the artists will paint at Robin's Nest on the Katy Trail, 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., then a Sunset Paint will be held at Balducci's Winery and Vineyards, 4:30 to sunset.
Saturday, there will be a paint out at Frisella's Nursery, sunrise to noon. There will be an artists reception at Neighborhood Reads in Washington, MO from 12 to 2 p.m., then the festivities move to Augusta. Artist's Choice and People's Choice voting will take place at The Harmonie Verein from 2 to 9 p.m. Judging for the Nocturne and Theme paintings will be at 3 p.m.; then the Augusta Paint Out will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
On Sunday, the final sale and award ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Estates in Augusta. Scholarship awards will be presented, along with Best of Show, Artists's Choice, People's Choice, and first, second and third place awards in each media category. A Children's Paint Out will be held at Mount Pleasant from 1 to 3 p.m.
