The New Melle Festival kicks off Thursday, June 13th, with Family Night. Bring the kids and grandkids for a fun-filled evening featuring a magic show, balloon artist, vehicles and demonstrations from local first responder agencies, the ever-popular agri-land, and more.
Friday Night (June 14) – The annual Queen Pageant gets underway at 7 p.m., followed by live music by Contagious (NOTE: The print edition of the BCC listed the wrong band - please excuse the error).
Saturday (June 15) features a full day of activities starting with a “Gizzard Run” at 9 a.m. (1K walk, 5K run), the fun-filled “Movie-themed” parade at 1:30 p.m., and new after-parade activities planned for the afternoon. The parade will end in the lower fields and each parade participant has the option of hosting an activity by their float, corn hole, ring toss, possibly a dunk booth... there will be people’s choice voting for best floats, Sugar Fire will be serving food starting at 11 a.m. and a rugby game will be held at 4 p.m.
Saturday night, put on your dancing boots and join us for a high-energy rockin’ country band, Brushville – which has been bringing down the house with sold out performances across the country.
The entire weekend, kids can enjoy the carnival rides as the adults enjoy the world famous gizzards and cold beverages.
