New Melle Festival Features Contagious & Brushville Concerts, “Gizzard Run”, Parade & More

The New Melle Festival kicks off Thursday, June 13th, with Family Night. Bring the kids and grandkids for a fun-filled evening featuring a magic show, balloon artist, face-painting, vehicles and demonstrations from local first responder agencies, the ever-popular agri-land, and more. Admission is $2.00 per person or $1.00 with a canned food donation.

Friday Night (June 14) – Gates open at 6 p.m. The 2019 Festival Queen will be announced on the main stage at 7:30 p.m., followed by live music by Contagious at 8 p.m.

Saturday (June 15) features a full day of activities starting with a “Gizzard Run” at 9 a.m. (Registration and packet pick-up start at 7:30 a.m.) There will be a 1K walk and a 5K and a 10K run. All three events start and end under the water tower. Sugarfire and Embers Wood Fired Pizza will be serving food from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. after the run/walk and before the parade.

The fun-filled “Movie-themed” parade starts at 1:30 p.m. at Daniel Boone School and ends on the lower ball fields, followed by “after-parade” activities by the floats.

Registration for the baby contest begins at 3 p.m. with judging at 3:30 p.m. There will be live music by ‘Grant and Kara’ and a cornhole tournament in the beer garden starting at 3 p.m. An exhibition rugby game will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the football field.

Carnival rides will be open 6-10 p.m. Thursday, 6-11 p.m. Friday, and 3-11 pm. Saturday with a safety break from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Our music line up begins with a local favorite, Joe Bizelli at 7pm. At 8:30 p.m. Brushville, a high-energy rockin’ country band will take the stage. Come and see why this exciting band has been bringing down the house with sold out performances across the country.

Advance armband specials will be available at Peoples Savings Bank for $15.00 per session two weeks prior to the festival. You may also purchase a 2019 New Melle Festival T-Shirt after June 1 at Peoples Savings Bank and at Catala Facial Retreat and Boutique in New Melle. Cost is $15 per shirt. Wear your shirt to the festival and get free admission. Sizes and selections may be limited. (Pre-ordered shirts will be available for pick up at the NMSR office.)
