Despite some morning rain and winds we had a very successful Fighting for Fisch Field Day Festival! Hundreds of people attended and all had a great time.
Everyone enjoyed the fire department and their Dalmatian. The community was able to bid on over 35 raffle items including a Cardinal basket valued at over $1000. Some of the highlights included lots of fun field games, face painting, the corn bin, amazing baked goods, and of course Funnel cakes and Kona Ice! Zoo for You and Applejacks the therapeutic horse were huge hits with the children, and our great DJ kept everyone in a party mood.
It took many hands to put on a festival like this and the community came out in force! Teachers, New Melle and Wentzville Fire departments, sports teams and families all worked very hard to help with the success. In the end we were able to raise thousands of dollars for this very needy cause; and donations are still coming in. If you would like to make a donation please call 636-299-3291. A huge thank you goes out to all of our donors and sponsors and endless volunteers for being a part of this event. And a very special thank you to New Melle Sports and Recreation for allowing us to host our event at their facility. At the end of the day, this event was yet another testimony to the generosity, care and compassion in this amazing community! Thank you everyone.
