A record-breaking $1517.00 was raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation this year at Short Stop’s Convenience Store in New Melle. Customers/supporters donated $1 (or more) to purchase a “pin up” with their name which was then hung on the donor wall. The funds raised were presented to Libby Thornton and donated to CFF through the Live, Laugh, Libby team.
Libby’s mom, Amy Thornton, thanked everyone who participated. “We are ever so thankful for everything this community does to support CF. We’re also extremely grateful to Greg Faron (Short Stop’s) for his ongoing support over the years and for providing this opportunity. Amy quoted Maya Angelou, “‘Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.’ That’s how we feel about all the love and support this community has shown us,” she said. “Thank you!”
Each donor was asked to write their name on the “pin-ups”
which were then displayed in the store.
