"Fall Into Place" in the August Photo Contest

Fall! Autumn! Leaves turning bright scarlet, golden yellow, and tantalizing orange! Pumpkins! Apples! Cornucopias! Raking leaves and playing in the piles! Foot-stomping, hand-clapping music at various venues! Bicycling on the Katy Trail! All of these are photo opportunities! The Adult/Teen “Best of Augusta” Photo Contest is here and accepting applications for October and November.

Photograph what catches your attention in the Town of Augusta.  Choose your best picture from the ones that you take or have taken. Print it out as a photo. Print and fill out an entry form from the website: www.townofaugustamo.org. Mail one 4 x 6 photo and the entry form to: “Best of Augusta” Photo Contest, PO Box 42, Augusta, MO 63332.

Creativity, composition, and uniqueness of Augusta characterize the judging. Photographs are evaluated by local photographers, artists and/or appreciators of the arts.  Prizes for this autumn contest include a $25.00 gift certificate from Stone Ledge Antiques and another one that is in the works.

The Kids’ “Best of Augusta” Photo Contest finished on September 30.  Augusta Elementary students took the opportunity to take photos on mini-field trips in town with Mrs. Sarah Bayless, the art teacher.  Thank you to all who assisted in this process.  Winners revealed in the next issue!
