Shiloh UMC has been through a lot in its long history, but this summer brought about two more changes. First, they welcomed a new pastor on June 28th. Pastor Meagan O’Brien and her family are excited to begin ministry with the congregation at Shiloh, as well as learn all there is to know about the community.
Meagan was most recently an associate pastor in St. Louis at The Gathering, and graduated from seminary this spring. Her family is getting settled in New Melle, and they are looking forward to exploring the area’s parks, restaurants and wineries, and meeting new people (in a safe and social-distanced way, of course!)
While it may look different these days, worship has not stopped at Shiloh, either. This summer the congregation began “Worship Under the Trees”, in the shade behind the church. This casual worship time includes songs, prayer, and a message, all from the comfort of lawn chairs and truck beds. To try to beat the heat, the worship service time was moved to 9:30 a.m. for the summer. Everyone is invited to attend and to bring their face mask and a seat. For information on upcoming worship information, follow Shiloh in Foristell on facebook, or check shiloh-methodist.org.
