St. Charles City-County Library Opens Cliff View Branch in Wentzville with Ribbon Cutting on May 19

The St. Charles City-County Library is pleased to announce the opening of the new Cliff View Branch, located at 10 Cliff Drive, Wentzville, MO 63385. The Cliff View Branch provides a modern, light-filled space with outdoor seating and new features that will make this branch a community-based library.

The ribbon-cutting was held on May 19.  Many members of the community and project team were present. The library provided tours, had refreshments and goodie bags for all who attended.

Jason Kuhl – Executive Director of the St. Charles City-County Library District, stated that “We are excited to share the new Cliff View Branch with our community. It exemplifies the modern library design that will serve as a model for the future.” Jason then shared, "There was a professor at Syracuse University School of Information Studies who said: ‘Bad libraries build collections, good libraries build services, and great libraries build communities.’  That is what you see here. The collection is great, but this is a nod to the community-building function that libraries serve. This branch's biggest feature is the flexible spaces it provides and thus maximizes tax dollars."  The Cliff View branch replaces the Discovery Ridge branch that was located in Wentzville, which closed in October of 2020.

The Cliff View location offers outdoor spaces currently unavailable in any of the Library’s western locations and features a fenced and covered outdoor patio, that expands seating and space for future classes and events during much of the year. WiFi is also provided on the patio. Cliff View offers features that maximize space, usability, and convenience for customers. The movable shelves and walls will accommodate a variety of future events and classes, study areas, and more. They also offer optional self check out and drive-thru services, customers can pick up holds and return materials using a drive-thru window.

More good news, due to the lessening of COVID-19 restrictions starting June 2 all branches of the St. Charles City-County Library will once again open at 9 a.m. instead of 11 a.m. Click here for locations and hours.
