On Memorial Day, Paul Sprock of Laddonia, Missouri was run over by a 4630 John Deere tractor. He was starting it from the ground and it was still in 2nd gear.
The back wheels and a bush hog mower (that was not turned on, thankfully) ran over him. He was able to call his son on his cell phone and all he could say was "I am hurt, bad". Paul was Life Flighted to University of Missouri, Columbia.
All his ribs were broken, his right rib cage was crushed, both shoulder blades crushed, his upper spine and left arm were fractured. Miraculously, after 17 days in the ICU, Paul has made great progress. He’s talking, eating, and walking a little with a walker, but still has a long road to recovery. Paul is the son of Edward Sprock, nephew of Elaine (nee Sprock) George of Wentzville and the late Kenneth Sprock of New Melle. His family is asking for continued prayers for healing.
A benefit fund has been set up to help cover the Life Flight costs and other medical expenses. Donations can be made to the Paul Sprock Benefit, United Credit Union, 210 W. Washington St., Vandalia, MO 63382. Gifts and encouragements can be sent to Prayers for Paul/Paul Sprock Benefit, c/o Amanda McCurdy, P.O. Box 272, Vandalia, MO 63382.
