Daniel Boone Elementary Collected 4200 Items for Food Pantry

On Thursday, March 31st, with sleet and freezing rain coming down, students and staff from our local Daniel Boone elementary school braved the elements, concluding their hugely successful canned good drive for our St. Vincent DePaul (SVDP) Pantry.

Pictured with over 25 students and staff are School Principal Mr. Kevin Armour, and 11 of 17 IHM/SVdP members who all worked hand in hand to unload over 4200 food items into our pantry.  We formed a human conveyor belt, proving more hands lighten the load.

The previous week, we shipped $1617.00 worth of food to one of our sister Conferences, Holy Name of Jesus in North St. Louis, where they serve two pantries, serving over 200 families per month.

Since our local pantry does not have such high demand, we twin (a SVDP term for sharing) with them to help them better serve their neighbors in need. There is such great joy in helping others, as Jesus has taught us.

Please know that our SVdP Members continue to hold you all in our prayers and truly appreciate your love and support of food and financial donations, which makes it possible for us as Vincentians to carry out our mission.

God Bless,

Joe A. Willis, Servant Leader
IHM/ SVdP
