Family Night at the New Melle Festival kicked off on Thursday, June 9, and one of the highlights of the evening was The Little Miss & Mister Contest in the NMSR Banquet Hall. The event was sponsored by the New Melle Festival Queen Pageant candidates.

The co-emcees for the evening were Briana Welge and Maleah Auping, and their co-candidates Taylor Brewer, Sydney Deason, Kaya Goertz, Jenna McMullen, Maggie Molitor, Khyla Schiermeier and Calais Smith were the judges for the evening. The eleven Little Miss & Mister candidates were judged on appearance, poise, personality and enthusiasm for the Festival in four age groups ranging from three to seven. 

Candidates for the 2022 Little Miss & Mister:

Ages 3 - 4, two candidates;  Miss Josephine Meagher, of New Melle, daughter of Michael and Hallie; and Miss Bexleigh Murphy (winner in the 3 - 4 age group) of St. Louis, daughter of Patrick and Kaitlyn. 

Ages 4 - 5, five candidates; Miss Brielle Cox, of Marthasville, daughter of Dennis and Tiffany; Miss Kaylee Flickinger (winner in the 4 - 5 age group) of Wright City, daughter of Ashley; Miss Paislee Follmer, of Foristell, daughter of Nicole; Miss Finley Smith, of Defiance, daughter of Andy and Ian; and Miss Eisley Tharp, of New Melle, daughter of Billy and Haley. 

Ages 5 - 6, one candidate Miss Edee Engel (winner in the 5 - 6 age group and 2022 Litte Miss Winner) of Foristell, daughter of Tyler and Robin.

Ages 6 - 7, three candidates: Miss Rose Graham, of St. Peters, daughter of Erica; Mister McKelvey Meagher (winner in the Mister 6 - 7 age group and 2022 Little Mister Winner) of New Melle, son of Michael and Hallie; and Miss Betsy Sudbrock (winner in the Miss 6 - 7 age group) of New Melle, daughter of Joe and Kara.

The 2022 Little Miss and Mister winners, Miss Edee Engel and Mister McKelvey Meagher will be at the New Melle Festival Queen Pageant Friday, June 10, at 7 p.m. in the NMSR Banquet Hall. The 2022 Little Miss & Mister will join the 2022 New Melle Festival Queen in the parade on Saturday, June 11 at 12:30 p.m. The parade begins at Daniel Boone Elementary, and the line-up for the parade starts at 11:30. 

The New Melle Festival Queen candidates did a fantastic job hosting and judging this event; Briana Welge and Maleah Auping were great emcees for the evening. A special thanks to Jenna Paul for the hard work and dedication she gives to New Melle Festival Queen Pageant Program every year!
