Maggie Molitor Crowned the 2022 Festival Queen

The 69th Annual New Melle Queen Pageant was held Friday, June 10, during the New Melle Festival. Maggie Molitor was crowned the 2022 New Melle Festival Queen and was also chosen as Miss Congeniality; First Alternate was Briana Welge and Second Alternate was Calais Smith.
Each year, judges select a candidate based on a compilation of points acquired from community service, community involvement, ticket sales, poise and personality, responsibility and interview questions. The winner receives a $750 scholarship, and the First Alternate receives $150.

There were nine exceptional young candidates this year; Miss Maleah Auping of Marthasville, sponsored by Karrenbrock Construction; Miss Taylor Brewer of Foristell, sponsored by Main Street Real Estate; Miss Sydney Deason of Foristell, sponsored by Sorenson Kennels; Miss Kaya Goertz of Defiance, sponsored by Catala Facial Retreat; Miss Jenna McMullen of Marthasville, sponsored by Brandes Farms, LLC.; Miss Maggie Molitor of Wright City, sponsored by Tuepker Brothers Construction; Miss Khyla Schiermeier of Defiance, sponsored by Drainscapes; Miss Calais Smith of Defiance, sponsored by Porky Joerling Trucking; and Miss Briana Welge of Wentzville, sponsored by New Melle 411.

The 2022 Festival Queen Maggie Molitor is the daughter of Amy and Larry Molitor. Maggie is very involved at Francis Howell High School through academics and sports. She has played softball and lacrosse. She is in the Viking Edge, NHS, and the A+ Program. Maggie has worked hard to obtain her 4.4 GPA throughout high school by striving to do well in her classes. She intends to take online courses at St. Charles Community College while she finishes her senior year. She would like to attend Missouri State or Drury University after high school to major in art and design with a minor in business. Her future career goal is to be an art director and run her own graphic design company. Maggie currently works at the New Melle Baking Company and loves to bake. She is grateful for her large local family because it is like having best friends always near you. Maggie strives to be the best version of herself to make others be the best versions of themselves.
