St. Paul’s Free Kidz Carnival – What a Great Day!

By Kathy Miller

St. Paul’s Lutheran in New Melle held the second annual St. Paul’s Kidz Carnival on July 16, it was a hot day; fortunately, there was shade, a breeze and a misting station to stay cool.
The Kidz Carnival was free; the only request was for donations to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.

The day included; games, a bounce house obstacle course, a petting zoo, the Straatmann Corn Bin, the New Melle Fire Protection District and Premier Entertainment offered balloon art and a strolling magician. Suzanne Bettonville did the face painting, she did a fantastic job. A free lunch was also provided, including ice cream for everyone! There were close to 300 people who attended the carnival; St. Paul’s provided a goodie bag for the kids to fill with prizes, and Pastor Maxx Fisher passed out treats to the kids.
There were many volunteers and generous sponsors of this event, and they did an impressive job putting this Carnival together for the community. The carnival had something for everyone to enjoy. St. Paul’s Lutheran would like to thank all the volunteers, sponsors, and the community that came out and supported the Carnival. St. Paul’s Lutheran is located at 150 W Hwy D, New Melle, MO 63365; for more information about the church, visit
