On Saturday, November 12, the Boy Scouts of America, including Pack 856 from New Melle, will distribute bags in area neighborhoods. Pack 856 will donate items collected from the area to the St. Vincent de Paul Pantry at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in New Melle.
On Saturday, November 19, the Scouts will return to collect those bags filled with canned and dry goods. Please have the bags out by 10 a.m. This time of year, the food pantries need holiday food items, cranberries, green beans, corn, stuffing mix, gravy (mix or jar), instant mashed potatoes etc. Other items needed are peanut butter, canned pasta with meat, soup, chicken and dumplings, chili (meals in a can), etc. Please be aware and watch out for the Scouts on November 12 and 19, as you are out those weekends. Thanks so much in advance for your help and support of this great cause.
