Local fabric artist Georganna Krumlinde, better known as Gigi to her friends, comes from a long line of quilters. She recently shared her knowledge of quilting at the Crossroads Arts Councils member meeting. Gigi began quilting at the age of 10, and she hasn’t stopped since. She has quilted over 300 quilts in her life. At the meeting she shared many quilts, including this one which included the sewing talents of four generations.
Gigi has quilted with the ladies at St. Patrick Church, St. Gianna Church in Wentzville, and with Quilts of Valor. She is active in 4-H, Girl Scouts, and was active in Boy Scouts for 20 years.
As a tribute to Gigi’s skill as a quilt maker, she has been selected to be in the “St. Charles County Quilts” show at the Missouri Quilt Museum in Hamilton, MO. This show will run from mid-February and all through March. Click here to view the story of how the community of Hamilton, MO created their historical museum.
