New 4-H Year – Boone Country Off to a Strong Start

Submitted by Tyler Bollman - 4-H Reporter

October marks the beginning of a new year for 4-H clubs across the country, and St. Charles County’s Boone Country 4-H Club is off to a great start. This year, Boone Country 4-H will hold monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at St. John’s Church in Foristell. Thank you to St. John’s Church for allowing the club to use their facilities. The club looks forward to helping at future community events together.

New Boone Country 4-H Club officers were elected at the September meeting, followed by officer induction at the October meeting. The 2023-24 elected club officers are:
• President, Ella Coulter
• Reporter, Tyler Bollman
• Vice President, Brayden Bynum
• Historian, Alex Bollman
• Secretary, Bransen Bynum
• Recreation Chair, Nate Buescher
• Treasurer, Carter Hauf
• County Council Representative, Elaina Buescher

The Boone Country 4-H Club has plans for member demonstrations, guest speakers, educational meetings, and community involvement opportunities for the 2023-24 year.

On Sunday, October 15, Boone Country members helped at the annual Tom Shaw Foundation Freedom Walk by placing American flags along the Katy Trail. They also carried the flag for the walk. It was an excellent opportunity for members to meet and help raise money for the Caring for Kids of St. Louis organization.

The Boone Country 4-H has several additional community events they look forward to helping with in the upcoming weeks. Members will be helping at the St. John’s United Church of Christ Sausage Dinner on November 5. They will also be filling up/setting out light luminaries and cleaning up for the New Melle Country Christmas on November 25. We look forward to seeing you all there!

The beginning of the year for 4-H is not just a time for planning; it is a promise to help nurture the seeds of leadership, responsibility, and compassion in the next generation's hearts.
