St. Charles County P & Z Meeting Reminder May 15

Citizens for Smart Growth in St. Charles County (CSGSCC) wants to bring awareness that Lombardo Homes, Inc. has submitted a development proposal to the St. Charles County P & Z for the southern section of Tall Tree Farms development, the“Canine Country Kennel and Farms” property. The properties are along Hwy DD between Dardenne Creek and Schwede Roads. The plans and the development proposal submitted consist of 120 homes on 156 acres and are on the St. Charles County P & Z agenda for Wednesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. The Lombardo proposal and development plans for the southern section WILL NOT MEET ALL CSGSCC's requested seven (7) principals.

CSGSCC has met with Lombardo Homes twice regarding their proposal and exchanged multiple phone calls and emails, and has found Lombardo Homes to be responsive and willing to negotiate on key features that will allow the southern development to integrate within our community. CSGSCC is encouraged by Lombardo’s efforts, however, their design for the northern, Tall Tree Farms between Sommers and Diehr Roads is not yet complete and will be submitted to the City of O’Fallon for approval soon.

Concerns remain about the northern development being pursued via O'Fallon jurisdiction. The group continues to consider strategies and plans for potential litigation against a non-compliant annexation. Your voice, whether you live in St. Charles County or O’Fallon, remains critical to guiding local governments and Lombardo Homes in agreeing on a development design that integrates well with our local community and does not create an undue financial and infrastructure service burden on existing residents.

Please continue to stay vigilant. Updates can be found via Facebook @Citizens For Smart Growth in St. Charles County or their website www.smartgrowthscc.com.
