Business Affected by Flooding/Road Closures Can Apply for Disaster Assistance

With the recent presidential Federal Disaster declaration, businesses in St. Charles County affected by flooding or by long-term road closures due to flooding may be eligible for financial assistance through the Small Business Adminstration (SBA). This is separate from FEMA Individual Assistance.

Business owners can apply for economic injury (i.e. business revenue loss) as well as physical injury (damage) with SBA.  SBA provides low-interest loans directly from the U.S. Treasury. FEMA has no grant programs for businesses.

The application process can begin by phone, as well as in person, when the Disaster Recover Center (DRC) opens. Registration number: 1-800-659-2055.

Business owners may also contact Burl Kelton, Small Business Administration (SBA), for questions or more details at 916-200-6426 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
