On Nov. 20th, St.  Charles County P&Z reviewed plans and recommended approval of a rezoning application for the Hyman H. Kaye Revocable Trust, App. # RZ19-14, Oakview Farms Drive from 5-acre to 3-acre lot sizes.

This would allow 25 3-acre lots off Foristell Road, adjacent to the Auburn Meadows subdivision. Neighboring property owners and area concerned citizens have spoken out against the request. Several years ago, the minimum lot size in this area was raised from 3 to 5 acres to help keep this area rural, and because 3-acre lots are not environmentally sound from a septic management perspective, especially considering the non-absorbent plastic soils that are common in this area. There are also water run-off concerns for adjacent properties, traffic concerns, and more.

The St. Charles County Council is scheduled to vote on Jan. 13. Check for the agenda and associated documents as the meeting dates draw nearer. Your presence at such meetings can make a difference.
