Local Election Results: Propositions Pass in Francis Howell and Wentzville School Districts

According to the unofficial election results for June 2, 2020 posted on the St. Charles County website:

Voters approved Proposition S for Francis Howell School District, a no tax increase bond issue for facility upgrades, with 79.28% in favor, and 20.72% of voters opposed. In addition, Mary Lange, Patrick Lane, and Douglas Ziegemeier were elected to the school board.

In the Wentzville School District, voters approved Proposition C, a no tax increase bond issue for safety upgrades, with 70.71% voters in favor and 29.29 opposed. A 57.14% majority was required for passage.  Voters also approved Proposition S, a $.49 per hundred dollars of assessed value tax increase, for operating expenses. 55.66% voted yes, 44.24% voted no. A simple majority was required for passage. New school board members will be Erin Abbott, Daniel Brice and Betsy Bates.

There were no contested municipal races in New Melle or Augusta. In New Melle Mayor Richard West was reelected, as were aldermen Don Hendrich and Gary Schneider. In Augusta, there were two open seats on the Board of Trustees, Richard Barton and Robert Hofer. Both are incumbents and were reelected.
