The City of O'Fallon was planning to conduct a Public Hearing concerning a request to rezone 270 acres at Hopewell Road and Hwy. N at a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on Thursday, July 1, 2021, but that hearing is now expected to be held Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the O'Fallon Municipal Centre, 100 N. Main St, O'Fallon, MO.
Following that, a public hearing before the City Council, previously scheduled for July 8, 2021, is now expected to be Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers (east entrance) at the O'Fallon Municipal Centre. A second reading and final vote by the City Council could then be expected to be on the agenda for August 26, 2021.
The requesting parties are Harvest Highway N, LLC, Robert E. and Margie A. Welker, Trustees and Successors in Trust of Robert E. and Margie A. Welker Revocable Trust, David and Amy Kranz and Hopewell Farm, LLC. The property borders the west side and south sides of Hopewell Road from near Hwy. N to near Dardenne Creek Farms.
The property is currently located in unincorporated St. Charles County and is proposed to be annexed into O'Fallon as R-1/PUD Single Family Residential District Planned Unit Development (262.8 acres), C-2/General Commercial (5.9 acres), AG/Agricultural (2.18) acres), and I-1/PD Light Industrial (1.05 acres cell tower site.)
