New Melle Board of Aldermen Meeting and Public Hearing September 13

The September Board of Aldermen Meeting will be held September 13 at 7 p.m. at the New Melle City Hall. Before the Regular Meeting, a Public Hearing will be held at 6:45 p.m. There will also be a closed session after the Board of Aldermen Meeting. See below for details. 

PUBLIC HEARING 

The Board of Aldermen of the City of New Melle will hold a Public Hearing for citizen input on the proposed tax rate on all real, personal, and other tangible property for the 2022 tax year.  The proposed tax rate is $.4350 per $100 assessed valuation. (2021 Tax Rate was $.4350)

OPEN FORUM

Each person addressing the Board of Aldermen shall give his/her name and address. Remarks shall be addressed to the Board as a whole and not to any individual member and no question shall be asked any individual member except through the presiding officer. No person other than the Aldermen and the person having the floor shall be permitted to enter into discussion without the permission of the presiding officer.

 NEW BUSINESS

  1. Approve Conditional Use Permit for Blondin Real Estate as Recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission
  2. Planning and Zoning Commission Volunteer Application for Allen Hanner was approved by Planning and Zoning last week and is being presented to the Board of Aldermen for final approval. 

The next Board of Aldermen Meeting will be Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at City Hall, 145 Almeling St., 7:00 p.m.

ADJOURNMENT 

CLOSED SESSION 

Following the Regular Board of Aldermen meeting, a Closed Session will be held by request of Council, Attorney Steve Martin. Board Members will remain at City Hall for the discussion.
