Work to reconfigure and improve the intersection at Hwys. N and Z has been delayed.
Right-of-way and easement acquisition work has begun but is expected to take 6-9 months, which pushes the expected construction start out to mid-year 2021, and project completion sometime in 2022 most likely. The project, which will add a 4-way stoplight and turn lanes, was initiallly expected to begin in 2020. Total estimated cost is $3,310,000, with $1,534,000 in Federal funding, and $1,776,000 paid by St. Charles County.
There is currently construction underway at the northeast corner of the intersection for a convenience store/filling station, which will border the new interchange once it is completed.
